I snapped the picture above of some candy that was being sold at the market place. I was tempted to get some, but I withstood the temptation and held strong :)!!! This afternoon I went to a shopping mall with a few of my teammates and we walked around and then went to a grocery store to get some staple things that we needed. This evening I plan on relaxing. I came home and did some laundry and washed my old teammates sheets and stuff. A new girl arrives tomorrow is what I have been told. I am also baking some banana bread and some chocolate chip cookies to take over to some of my teammates apartment tonight. One of my teammates birthday is today, so we are going to all get together for that.
Yay for the month of November upon us...wow! Honestly it amazes me I have already been here in Israel for one entire month. As we enter into a new month, and especially with it being the month of November I can't help but be reminded of how thankful I am. This past year has been an amazing year indeed. It started out a little rough when I had to return home early from Turkey because of some issues with the team, but God is so good. He allowed me to have extended time with my family, friends, and my boyfriend.
I started out the summer by attending training camp in Phoenix. Honestly, my heart was torn as I had to decide what was best, but I felt like the Lord swung the door wide open for me to go to training camp, and I was at peace about going. I had an awesome training camp, but for whatever reason, I was cut from the final roster.
The rest of the summer was absolutely incredible. I kind of felt like I was a "road warrior" as I made several trips to Ohio, went up to Michigan to visit a friend, made a few trips to DC to see my brother and his wife, made a lot of trips to TN to see my boyfriend, and a trip to Pennsylvania with my boyfriend and his family. I was able to relax some, work out, help run some camps, spend time with my family and friends, and then of course one of my favorite parts of the summer was being able to spend time with my boyfriend Caleb and his precious family. What an absolute blessing he has been in my life. Caleb is a hard working, honest man who is full of integrity and ultimately strives on a daily basis to honor and glorify the Lord with what he says and does. He has been such an encouragement to me and has supported me through everything. If you are reading this Caleb, thank you!
On top of that, I feel like the Lord has been growing me and teaching me so much. It has been pretty amazing!! I actually took on the challenge to read through the Bible in 90 days, and right now I am closing in on day #70 out 90 days. What an incredible blessing it has been. So neat also to be here in Israel, and be surrounded by an enormous amount of Biblical History. The Lord is showing me to continue to put my trust in Him despite twists and turns that come...because we all know that they are inevitable. He truly is ENOUGH for every day!
I also can't fail to mention the opportunity to come over here to Israel and play. So far my time here in Israel has been great. Has it been a cake walk? By no means, but it has been good. Shortly after arriving here I dislocated my finger and that sidelined me for a solid week, but through that injury the Lord gave me a peace that passes all understanding. I have been able to meet some incredible people here and yeah, it has just been a great experience. We have played one regular season game so far and came away with the victory as well which was awesome. Our next game will be on Wednesday instead of this coming Monday due to the fact that our game is going to be televised.
As we enter into the month of November may we be ever conscious to remember to be THANKFUL!! Honestly, we ALL have things to be thankful for. Even if you are currently walking through a hard or difficult time, stop and take some time to reflect on ALL of God's goodness to you in the past and in the present....AND what is so awesome is that the future holds great things for you as well.
I also wanted to give you my address. This actually isn't my address, but rather the Club's address.
