Sorry this is getting sent out late. I had this all typed up and then my internet went out on me.
What a great Monday for me! I got to sleep in and then I went to the store. We practiced this afternoon and it went well. We didn't do a whole lot in practice besides shoot which was nice.
This evening I have just been relaxing and then I watched our game against Istanbul. Always nice to watch game film on yourself and the team to see areas that we can improve on as a team and individually.
Tomorrow we have lifting and one pra
What I am thankful for:
So, I haven't done this the past few days...I apologize. Today I am thankful for being able to play basketball. I know there is a small window that I am able to do this, so I want to be able to use the game to share Jesus with those I come in contact with. It has been amazing to me to see the journey that the Lord has allowed me to take with basketball; I have seen a lot of different places and I have met a lot of different people :) I am excited to see what the Lord has in store as I continue to play a game that the Lord has graciously allowed me to play!!
But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, ... But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.— Joshua 24:15 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...While we can't speak for everyone in our family, we can commit to what everyone in our family should desire: We will serve the Lord! But more than commit, let's set the example and lead the way. "I will serve the Lord, TODAY!" Then we can ask them to join us.
My Utmost For His Highest:
Have we come to realize that our “body is the temple of the Holy Spirit”? If so, we must be careful to keep it undefiled for Him. We have to remember that our conscious life, even though only a small part of our total person, is to be regarded by us as a “temple of the Holy Spirit.” He will be responsible for the unconscious part which we don’t know, but we must pay careful attention to and guard the conscious part for which we are responsible.
Our Daily Bread:
Isn’t life a lot like that? If we set our sights too low, we really don’t accomplish all that we can. Sometimes we have to aim high in order to reach a desired goal.
What should be our aim in life? How high should we point our ambitions? Well, since Scripture is our true guide, we will shoot for nothing but spiritual maturity. In fact, in Paul’s farewell to the people of Corinth, he said, “Aim for perfection” (2 Cor. 13:11 NIV). And we also have the high aim of these words from the lips of Jesus, “You shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect” (Matt. 5:48).
Perfection is a lofty target, and we won’t attain it in this life. But if we want to honor God and get close to that high goal, we need to aim high.
