- VERSE OF THE WEEK:
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all those whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.” Isaiah 26:3-4
I hope everyone has had a great day today! Happy Hump Day :). Today was a great day here. It was game day here. We had shoot around this morning, I got a good bike workout in, went to therapy, then relaxed until the game. We played Energa Torun today and beat them 94-79. The team played great today, and it showed in the outcome of the game. We actually lost to this team earlier in the season, so it was great to be able to beat them. That puts our record to 20-3 in the Polish League. It is crazy to think we only have 3 games left to finish out the regular season.
Here is the basketball game schedule from here on out:
March 12th – Monday @ Lotos Gdynia POL
March 14th – Wednedsay INEA AZS POL
March 17th - Saturday @Wisla Can- Pack POL
END OF REGULAR SEASON!
PLAYOFFS BEGIN MARCH 21st!
This evening I have been chilling. I talked to a friend on the phone, then I have been relaxing. Tomorrow we have off. I will be going in to get a good bike workout in, then taking my cast off - YAY!!! Tomorrow is the day to see how it healing and how it feels for me to move it around and stuff.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week! The end is in sight :)
Here are some verses that stuck out to me from my reading today:
Jeremiah 22:3 – “This is what the Lord says: Be fair-minded and just. Do what is right! Help those who have been robbed: rescue them from their oppressors. Quit your evil deeds! Do not mistreat foreigners, orphans, or widows.
Jeremiah 23:23-24 – “Am I a God who is only close at hand?” says the Lord. “No, I am far away at the same time. Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.
Jeremiah 27:4 – “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: With my great strength and powerful arm I made the earth and all its people and every animal. I can give these things of mine to anyone I choose.”
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen.
Jeremiah 29:13 – “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
Jeremiah 30:11 – “For I am with you and will save you, says the Lord. I will completely destroy the nations where I have scattered you but I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you, but with justice; I cannot let you go unpunished.”
Jeremiah 31:3b -“I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.”
Jeremiah 31:13b - “I will turn their mourning into joy. I will comfort them and exchange their sorrow for rejoicing.”
Jeremiah 31:33 – “But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the Lord. I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
Jeremiah 31:35 – “It is the Lord who provides the sun to light the day and the moon and stars to light the night, and who stirs the sea into roaring waves. His name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies…”
Jeremiah 31:37 - “Just as the heavens cannot be measured and the foundations of the earth cannot be explored, so I will not consider casting them away for the evil they have done. I, the Lord, have spoken!”
Loving the book of Jeremiah!!!

My Utmost For His Highest:
"The underlying foundation of the Christian faith is the undeserved, limitless miracle of the love of God that was exhibited on the Cross of Calvary; a love that is not earned and can never be. Paul said this is the reason that “in all these things we are more than conquerors.” We are super-victors with a joy that comes from experiencing the very things which look as if they are going to overwhelm us.
The things we try to avoid and fight against— tribulation, suffering, and persecution— are the very things that produce abundant joy in us. “We are more than conquerors through Him” “in all these things”; not in spite of them, but in the midst of them."
Thank you Lord for sustaining us in every single phase of our life. Whether we are in a valley, on a mountain top, going into a valley, or climbing on top of a mountain, YOU PROMISE TO HOLD US IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND. Thank you :). You help us to conquer whatever may come into our path. We are able to be "more than conquerors", because we serve the ultimate conqueror. Jesus defeated death once and for all when He went to the cross and died for you and for me. Have you asked Jesus to be your Dad? Have you asked Him to come into your heart and your life? If you haven't, I encourage you to do so today. None of us know when we will breathe our last breath. What peace we can have when we know that we are safe in the arms of the Lord.
The Lord has really been speaking to me a lot lately. He recently convicted me of not spending quality time with Him. Sure, I was reading my Bible everyday, listening to a lot of messages from different pastors which I love. None of that is bad, BUT I got to thinking I have time to watch movies, read books for pleasure, work out, talk to friends and family, but sometimes I don't set QUALITY TIME ASIDE TO read my Bible or pray. How is that even possible? Have you found yourself in that same position? We have no one to blame but ourselves. Why would I not want to read the Bible...and not just read a chapter of the Bible, or a couple verses, but rather spend time meditating in His WORD and reading CHAPTERS (plural) at one time? Why would I not want to talk to the Lord for more than 5 or 10 minutes at a time? I find time to talk to my family and my friends for sometimes hours at a time. It all comes down to what my priorities are. We all chisel out time in our busy schedules to do different things. Am I spending ample time with the Lord each day...are you?
God wants ALL of us. It is easy to give Him some areas of our lives, but have we truly surrendered our ALL to Him? It is easy to give the areas of our lives to Him that we want to, but what about that area in your life or in my life that we still want to control? Jesus gave His ALL for us so that we would be able to have the privilege to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior. The very least we could do is give our ALL in return.
But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD." Joshua 24:15
Who do you choose to serve? How do you spend your day? There are 24 hours in one day. How are we using that time? I encourage you to make the Lord the #1 priority in your life. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. In fact, you will find that you will be encouraged. We live in a world full of discouragement, but we serve a GOD who encourages us to be all that we can be for Him. What would happen if you spent 15 minutes reading the Bible instead of 15 minutes on facebook? What would it look like if you spent 30 minutes in the Bible instead of 30 minutes watching TV? I guarantee you that any time we spend in the WORD will not be wasted.
Thank you Lord for speaking to me. It isn't always easy to listen and change our ways, but I promise you that when we listen to the Holy Spirit guiding us and prodding us, we will be miserable until we surrender to Him. Are you stressed out, are you discouraged, are you emotionally tired, is it hard for you to get through the day?
Isaiah 40:28-31 - Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Let me let you in on a little secret that is not only for you but also for me - we need to SURRENDER everything! I can tell you that JESUS = JOY. When we serve Jesus, the cares of this world start to fade. The Lord has been showing me the importance of "looking up" rather than "looking out". When I look up, my focus is solely on the Lord. When I look out or lookahead, then I can easily start to get weighed down by the cares of this world.
I hope you all have a great rest of the week :) Talk to you all tomorrow!
"Looking Up",
Megan
