How is everyone doing? I didn't get around to blogging yesterday. Needless to say, we had quite an ugly game against Fenerbahce. Honestly, it was probably one of the toughest games of my professional career thus far. From a team perspective it didn't seem like anything was going right offensively and defensively. We got beat 92-48. It is at times like this in my life, when I am so thankful my self worth is not determined by if I make 0 points or 30 points.
I would appreciate your prayers as we move forward. We have a two week break right now where 4 of my teammates are reporting to training camps for their respective countries. Those of us who are not on National Teams will continue to work out and practice. We were only given off today, so it is back to "work" for us tomorrow.
My sisters are here for 2 more days and then they will be heading back Thursday morning to the States. It has been a blast having them here, and I am so thankful that they could come and we could spend some time together.
I was reading a blog from Ann Voskamp today and this is what she wrote: "Never forget that happiness is when His Word and your walk are in harmony." Hey Soul? Today? No matter the pressures, let's just quietly exhale... and lean into Jesus. "Jesus said, “Come along with me." (Mk2:13MSG) Only in Christ can we experience extravagant acceptance without experiencing exhausting performance. Because the thing is? Unless we walk with Jesus every moment, we'll be driven hard by pride and fear every day. Relax about today -- it's already okay: you are already loved. Jesus wants to walk with you today -- *so you aren't driven by pride or fear.*
How many of us can relate to the words above? May we all focus on spending quality time with the Lord. Truly our performance doesn't matter to the Lord. He has already done everything...BUT we have the awesome opportunity to live our lives reflecting Him and bringing Him honor and glory in all that we do and say. Let's focus on that this week and the weeks ahead :). Let us not become exhausted trying to perform, but rather overjoyed and rejuvenated as we seek to honor the Lord.
I had a good off day today. I went with my sisters to the European side and we walked around quite a bit and then we had lunch and we also walked around a mall. For dinner we came back to the Asian side and got some fish which was really good!
I am going to spend the rest of the evening relaxing and hanging out with my sisters.
Love you all,
Megan
