Hey All,
Once again, a lot has happened since I have last blogged. I had a friend come in for a few days and visit. It ended up working out great that she was here, because I tore my meniscus Friday, June 25th in practice. I knew I had done something to my knee, but it wasn't anything serious. I finished out practice, and then we happened to have a meeting after practice. Since I have had a major knee injury before, I knew the key would be to see how it felt after the meeting and then the clincher would be how it reacted after a night of sleep. I noticed that after the meeting it was a little tight, so I got some ice to put on it. It started to get more stiff throughout the evening, and by the morning I woke up to a swollen, stiff, and sore knee. I called my trainer and she had me go in for an MRI right away. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so I was glad that she let me get in there ASAP. I went in for the MRI Saturday morning, and then was told about an hour later that I had torn my medial meniscus. Thank you Shannon (my friend who came), for being willing to take me around and be my chauffeur everywhere that I needed to go! I was scheduled to have surgery Monday, but because of insurance taking awhile to process all of the paperwork, I did not have surgery until yesterday. Because I thought I would have surgery on Monday, my mom flew down on Sunday to stay with me :). I have loved having her down here...we have had a lot of fun! Surgery went great and the doctor expects a full recovery in 4-6 weeks. Te doctor had to remove the part of the meniscus that was torn, and reported that everything else in my knee is structurally solid and in good shape. I just wanted to update you all and let you know that my surgery was successful! This morning (morning after surgery), I have not had to take any pain medicine. I am up walking around and I even took a shower :). They have a new device that allows you to pretty much encase your leg with plastic that has a suction thing at the top...it worked great! I will be staying down here in San Antonio during my rehab process, and then we will see what happens from there. The Lord no doubt has HIS perfect plan in all of this!! I have had such a peace throughout this whole ordeal, knowing that I am in the Lord's hands!!! The Lord knows what is best for me, and so I can rest in that :) One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11 which says, "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." _____________________________________________________________________ Verse of the day: Matthew 6:34 "Do not worry about tomorrow." Quote of the day: "Don't fret about the future or be consumed by cares; Instead take all your worries and them into prayers, ---Sper ____________________________________________________________________ Praise the Lord that we can cast all of our burdens on HIM!!!! Have a great week! Enjoy the fourth of July weekend, remembering those who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom! God bless, Megan

Thank you Megan for the on-time scriptures. They really encouraged me tonight. We miss you much in SA and hope there is still a future for you here. Blessings, M
