Today has been a good day here. I got to sleep in which was nice. We had an earlier practice this afternoon. I took the metro back home and enjoyed a nice little walk. As some of you may have seen on the news there was another bombing in Turkey...this time in Ankara. I played in Ankara my first year overseas, but this year I am living in Istanbul. My heart goes out to the Turkish people and country. The reality of it is, we live in a pretty messed up world. The only way we have any hope of reconciliation and peace is turning to the Lord.
I wanted to share with you some notes from a message I listened to yesterday:

The Suffering
Mark 14
- Pray Faithfully
- Jesus prayed often and regularly.
- Pray Authentically
- Jesus fell on the ground and prayed in the garden.
- Praying is not about being something you are not.
- Pray Intimately
- Vs. 36 – Jesus calls out to his Father and says “Daddy”
- Pray Fervently
- Pray Fearfully
- Jesus has a healthy respect for who God is.
- We need to be in awe of who He is; not nervous because we don’t know what He will do.
We must learn to live in willing submission even when our prayers seem unanswered.
- God always does answer our prayers. It is always:
- Yes
- No
- Wait awhile
6. Pray Submissively
- The meaning of prayer is to surrender our will to his.
- Watch for the warning signs of temptation in your life.
- Jesus will provide a way out of temptation if we watch.
I pray you all have a great week ahead. I pray also that we may be more mindful of going to the Lord in prayer throughout the day.
We have 2 weeks and 6 days left of the regular season not that I am counting or anything ;). We have 5 games left of the regular season, and right now we are sitting in 10th place out of 14 teams still. We will have to win a few games in order to make the playoffs. We have practice tomorrow again in the early afternoon, and then we will play on Wednesday against Canik at 6:00 p.m. which is 12:00 p.m. EST (only a 6 hour time difference for the next 2 weeks).
God bless,
Megan
