We got the win today against Kayseri. I woke up early and had breakfast then went and worked out in the hotel. We have the next 2 days off which is nice. I am going to go to church tomorrow which will be great too. We are heading back now on the bus from the airport to our apartment and it is going on 1:00 a.m.
I am going to sign off for now! God bless, Megan

Hey All,
Tomorrow it is game day here. I found out I will not be playing tomorrow. We play at 9 a.m. EST which is 4:00 p.m. here. I will be sure to let you know how the game goes! I will try to write a longer blog on Sunday. Tomorrow will be a long day as we don't fly back to Istanbul until 10:30 p.m. God bless, Megan It is that time again to hit the road for a road game. We leave tomorrow early in the morning to head to the airport. We will be flying to Kayseri tomorrow and then practicing in the afternoon. We will be playing on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. EST, which is 4:00 p.m. here. It will be a late night, because our flight back to Istanbul isn't until 10:30 p.m.
Today was a good day here. We had practice in the afternoon. This evening I went over to my teammates house for dinner which was good. She baked some chicken and then did some potatoes as well. It has been fun having another Croatian teammate. I am really good friends with Andja (Croatian teammate I had a few years ago), and now it has been awesome getting to know Marija as well. I hope and pray you all have had a great week so far! God bless, Megan Hey Everyone,
Today was another good day. We had practice in the afternoon followed by lifting. I came back and made some chicken curry for dinner. It was really yummy! I plan on relaxing the rest of the day. God bless, Megan Hey All,
Today has been a good day here . We woke up early and watched our entire game from Sunday and then we had some down time and then came back and practiced in the afternoon. Tomorrow we were supposed to have 2 separate practices, but now we are going to combine lifting and basketball. We will do basketball practice first and then do lifting afterwards. It has been nice to relax this evening. I came home and made some salmon for dinner along with a potato. I plan on sleeping in some tomorrow! It is crazy we are already to Wednesday. In some ways it seems later than that in the week and in other ways not. Since we didn't have an OFF DAY this weekend it makes for a long week of practices. We will lead to Kayseri on Friday and we play them on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. EST. I will continue to keep you updated as I know information. Today my sisters flew to Cancun. They will be there through the weekend. One of our best friends is getting married Friday. They will be in the wedding, which is awesome. Once again, another wedding that I miss attending and being in because of my "job" but unfortunately duty calls sometimes and we miss events of friends and family. I will get all the details from my sisters so that will be nice. My husband had another snow day today. He has been out since last Wednesday, so it will be good I am sure to get back into a routine for him. I have enjoyed being able to communicate with him more since he hasn't had to teach so that has been nice. God bless, Megan Hey All,
I had a good start to the week!! We had lifting this morning and then practice. The rest of the week we have 2 a days so it will be a busy week ahead. I made some homemade pretzels which was fun! I made some cinnamon and sugar ones, plain ones, and jalapeño and cheese pretzels. I taste tested a couple of them and then I put the rest in the freezer for later. I have to say the pretzels turned out great!! The rest of the evening I have been relaxing which has been nice. God bless, Megan Hey All,
Today has been a pretty good day. We didn't have off, so it makes for a long week ahead, but such is life sometimes. Just a quick blog to let you know all is well. I wanted to share with you an excerpt from "Jesus Calling": "Thank Me when things do not go your way, because SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS COME WRAPPED IN TRIALS." How many of us thank the Lord when things don't go our way? What an attitude shift that requires, but one that I think we all should strive to have. The truth is, their is beauty to be found everywhere we are. Whether we are in the midst of "darkness" or in the midst of "light" we truly do have things to be thankful for. And most importantly knowing that the Lord is orchestrating each and every detail in our lives can leave us in a state of awe and peace. May we all strive to be more thankful this week!! God bless, Megan Hey All,
We lost a tough game today to the #2 team in Turkey. We definitely had our chances, but let it slip early on and we couldn't ever recover from the point deficit. We lost to Hatay 87-69 which is a hard loss for sure. I got to play which was nice, but the not so fun part was that our team lost. It looks like tomorrow we will have practice. I will let you know how the week goes. God bless, Megan Hey All,
Game day here tomorrow! I will let you know how the game goes. We play the #2 team (Hatay) in the league, so it will be a good game. I found out today that I will be playing tomorrow. My prayer is that the Lord would be glorified in the game!! We play at 9 a.m. tomorrow EST which is 4:00 p.m. here. Also, be in prayer for people living in the Virginia area. They are getting some inclement weather. I am reading a new book called "Choose Joy" and it has been a great read so far!! I wanted to share with you 2 quotes among many others that have stuck out to me: "Whether we like it or not, being changed sometimes means living through painful circumstances." "I've come to understand that the only thing I can control is whether or not I open my heart. Open it to embrace my circumstances. Open it to be who He needs me to be in the here and now rather than assume happiness can come from the "If only..." and "When I get..." Open it enough to let Him in to change me here so I can be with Him there." May we all search our hearts, and allow the Lord to use the painful and the hard circumstances not to make us bitter but to make us better...better servants of Him!! God bless, Megan Hey All,
Today was a good day. It was sunny out and a little bit warmer today. It makes for a longer day when we have to drive to our game gym because that always takes usually an hour, but it is okay. We left the apartment at 1:00 p.m. and had practice at 3:00. We had a shorter practice today and then I ended up taking the metro back with one of my teammates. I stopped at the grocery store on the walk back from the metro and then came home. For dinner I pan seared some salmon, then I cut up and baked a potato, and then also had some boiled squash. The rest of the evening I plan on relaxing. I did some reading this morning when I woke up and then did some reading on the way to gym which was nice!! I hope you all are doing well. For those in Lynchburg, VA or surrounding areas, be careful this weekend! God bless, Megan |
