Just wanted to shoot a quick update out to you all and let you know that rehab continues to go GREAT! I started running this week, and my knee is feeling good. I rehab for about 2 hours everyday and then I take off Sunday to relax. I love my PT and the people at the rehab place that I go to.
I had my parents, sister, and friend come in to town for about a week. We did a lot of FUN things while they were here. A few of the highlights we hit up were the alamo, the riverwalk, a rodeo, the outlet mall, and sea world. Here is a link to some pictures that I took while my sister, parents, and friend Britt were in town :). We had a lot of FUN!!! I also wanted to share a link with you to a song that one of my friends showed me: CHECK IT OUT!! _____________________________________________________________________ Verse of the day: Proverbs 23:17b "...always be zealous for the fear of the Lord." Who are you zealous and passionate about? _____________________________________________________________________ I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Hey All,
Just wanted to update you to let you know that rehab is going great!! Knee continues to feel good. I have not had to take any pain medicine since day 1 of surgery. Today I started doing the elliptical :). I am also starting to do some agility work, and through it all I feel so blessed that the Lord is seeing me through! I was my parents anniversary on July 7th. I think this is their first anniversary that my parents have been apart. I feel so blessed to have parents who not only love one another deeply, but more importantly love the Lord!! The verse of the day is Proverbs 12:4 "A wife of noble character is her husband's crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones." THANK YOU MOM FOR BEING A WIFE OF NOBLE CHARACTER TO DAD...SUCH A GREAT EXAMPLE FOR ME TO FOLLOW :)!! My mom and I have had an awesome time with one another. My mom has helped me so so much. She faithfully does my laundry, makes my bed, cleans me house, pretty much pampers me :). It has been AMAZING having her around and getting to spend quality time with her. On Thursday, my Dad, my sister, and a friend will be coming down to join us :). I am so excited to get to see all of them!! They will all be here for about a week, and then my Mom will head back with them. I will keep you all updated on how the next couple of weeks go! GOD ALONE IS WORTHY OF OUR WORSHIP!! Megan Hey All,
Once again, a lot has happened since I have last blogged. I had a friend come in for a few days and visit. It ended up working out great that she was here, because I tore my meniscus Friday, June 25th in practice. I knew I had done something to my knee, but it wasn't anything serious. I finished out practice, and then we happened to have a meeting after practice. Since I have had a major knee injury before, I knew the key would be to see how it felt after the meeting and then the clincher would be how it reacted after a night of sleep. I noticed that after the meeting it was a little tight, so I got some ice to put on it. It started to get more stiff throughout the evening, and by the morning I woke up to a swollen, stiff, and sore knee. I called my trainer and she had me go in for an MRI right away. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so I was glad that she let me get in there ASAP. I went in for the MRI Saturday morning, and then was told about an hour later that I had torn my medial meniscus. Thank you Shannon (my friend who came), for being willing to take me around and be my chauffeur everywhere that I needed to go! I was scheduled to have surgery Monday, but because of insurance taking awhile to process all of the paperwork, I did not have surgery until yesterday. Because I thought I would have surgery on Monday, my mom flew down on Sunday to stay with me :). I have loved having her down here...we have had a lot of fun! Surgery went great and the doctor expects a full recovery in 4-6 weeks. Te doctor had to remove the part of the meniscus that was torn, and reported that everything else in my knee is structurally solid and in good shape. I just wanted to update you all and let you know that my surgery was successful! This morning (morning after surgery), I have not had to take any pain medicine. I am up walking around and I even took a shower :). They have a new device that allows you to pretty much encase your leg with plastic that has a suction thing at the top...it worked great! I will be staying down here in San Antonio during my rehab process, and then we will see what happens from there. The Lord no doubt has HIS perfect plan in all of this!! I have had such a peace throughout this whole ordeal, knowing that I am in the Lord's hands!!! The Lord knows what is best for me, and so I can rest in that :) One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11 which says, "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." _____________________________________________________________________ Verse of the day: Matthew 6:34 "Do not worry about tomorrow." Quote of the day: "Don't fret about the future or be consumed by cares; Instead take all your worries and them into prayers, ---Sper ____________________________________________________________________ Praise the Lord that we can cast all of our burdens on HIM!!!! Have a great week! Enjoy the fourth of July weekend, remembering those who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom! God bless, Megan |
