Today was a great day! I slept in, then I made a fruit pizza for our get together tonight and also made a salad. We had practice today since we had Thursday off, and it went well. A couple of my teammates made a pasta bake as well as some meatballs, so we had a full meal. It was another successful shabat dinner here in Israel :)
Tomorrow we practice in the evening and then it is game day on Sunday!
Good bye to January and hello to February tomorrow!!!
God bless,
Megan
Genesis 23/Luke 23
Genesis 23 – Kind of interesting what all transpires to bury Sarah, but neat to see Ephron willing to give some land to Abraham because of their friendship. What a great reminder to be willing to sacrifice for our friends even if at times it may be a "costly" sacrifice, but that is what friends our for. We support one another in the highs and lows of life.
Luke 23 – Pilate releases Barabbas and sentences Jesus to die even though he found no fault with Jesus and Barabbas was guilty. Despite the injustice that Jesus received He still went to the cross and sacrificed himself for our sins. I think it is really neat too to see Jesus verbally ask for forgiveness to those who were hanging him as well as the criminals on the cross…talk about humility and selflessness being lived out?!?
