I am still playing catch up for a few more days, so since Sunday there is no reading I go back and do a day from the beginning of January to catch up:
January 3rd
Genesis 3/Luke 3
Genesis 3 – In this chapter Adam and Eve sin by eating an apple. It is amazing that as soon as Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit they were aware that they had done something wrong. Satan was able to deceive them, and he still is up to his conniving and deceitful ways even today. As a result of sin entering the world, pain became a part of childbirth and working became necessary to survive. The Garden of Eden was a perfect place, and yet as a result of Adam and Eve choosing to do that which the Lord told them not to, the world became an imperfect place. What an opportunity we have as Christians to be a light in this dark world and what a blessing it is that Jesus died on the cross as an atonement for our sins.
Luke 3 – John the Baptist prepares the way for Jesus. John the Baptist knew that Jesus was far greater than himself. May we also pave the way for the Messiah’s coming in how we live our lives; what an opportunity we have!!! The end of the chapter shows the ancestry of Jesus.
God bless,
Megan
