I just wanted to let you know that as of August 1st, 2014 I became an engaged woman. WOW!! The Lord has seen to bless me beyond my wildest dreams in bringing me the love of my life Caleb Leuzinger. Caleb is someone who from day #1 when we met I knew that he was a special guy. Little did I know that God would graciously see fit that we spend the rest of our lives on this earth together. How amazing our God is! This summer has been one to remember from moving to Ohio to getting engaged to Caleb...and through it all God has been so good!!
Caleb did an awesome job with the proposal as well as picking out a ring. He had told me earlier this summer that we were going to be engaged by the end of the summer but he gave me no indication when or where he would propose. I was even surprised he let me know that we would be engaged by the end of the summer but I was also thankful.
There were many times this summer that my friends or family thought Caleb would propose but I always said, "no, I don't think he is going to ask yet". Then this past weekend rolled around and my heart was telling me he was going to ask. I was going down to TN to see Caleb and his family as well as attend a Rend Collective concert. Caleb had told me the week before that he wanted to take me out on a date and then we were also going to do some walking. I asked him if I should dress up or not and Caleb said "no" since we were going to be walking around...he wanted both of us to be comfortable. The evening started out by Caleb taking me to this amazing BBQ place. It was a place up in the mountains and they do exceptional BBQ. After an amazing dinner Caleb plugged the address of the place he wanted to take me into his phone. He never told me where we were going to be walking until we were almost there and I never asked because I felt it best just to go along for the ride. It was great because the exit we had to take at one point was "Lover's Lane". Caleb nonchalantly said "how appropriate". Me and my curious self at one point even looked at his short pockets to see if I could detect a ring box but I couldn't. I was also observing Caleb to see if he was acting nervous and he really wasn't. We finally found the sign for "Blue Hole" so we took it and started winding up a mountain. The road turned into a gravel road and we finally figured we must have missed the turn off so we headed back down the mountain and saw a truck pulled off of the side of the road, so we decided to give it a try. Immediately after getting out of the car Caleb and I could hear water so we figured we were probably finally going to get to see the "Blue Hole". It was awesome because the water was so blue and a gorgeous waterfall was falling right into. One little problem though there were 2 people jumping into the blue hole, so it wasn't as private for Caleb's liking. He then asked me to climb up a little bit to another waterfall area and then we we climbed back into a little secluded area. We were looking around and I asked Caleb if he wanted to take a picture - he said "sure" so we paused to capture the moment. A few minutes later one of the people jumping into the hole asked if we could take a video of them jumping in and Caleb said "yeah no problem"...it meant us climbing out of the secluded area though. Typical Caleb, he handled it just fine and started to take their video...well then their camera died so that was that. Caleb then wanted to get back to the secluded spot so he said, "I think there might be some caves back there..let's go see if we can see them"...so I said "okay sounds good". At this point I figured something was up and I was getting nervous because I could tell Caleb was nervous. After a few minutes of looking I turned to kind of start heading out of the secluded spot. As I turned around I then hear Caleb say "hey Megan" to which I then turned around back to him. At this point he was down on one knee with a ring box opened up and a beautiful ring inside. He proceeded to ask me to be his wife to which I said "YES"!!! We were both tearing up as the significance of the moment was sinking in!! I am so thankful for the opportunity to be Caleb's bride! We would both covet your prayers as we embark on a future together. Our prayer is that we keep Christ in the center of our relationship and marriage and that He may be evident in how we live our lives on a daily basis. I am thankful for God's goodness not just when things are going well but also when things don't go the way we think they should. He is faithful and worthy of our praise at ALL times.
On a different topic, I have not signed with an overseas team yet, but when I do I will be sure to let you all know! I hope everyone has a great month of August!!
God bess,
Megan
