How is everyone doing? Today was a good day here. I slept in, then had practice, then this evening I made a sweet potato pesto cheese grill that turned out great with a couple of my teammates! I enjoyed experimenting a little bit more with sweet potatoes :)!!
Tomorrow it is back to the practice floor in the afternoon. It is crazy to think that one week from today I will be welcoming Caleb to Israel. I am excited to see him for a few days after being 5 months apart!! It will be fun giving him a "tour" of Israel and of course being able to spend time with him :)!
God bless,
Megan
Reading for the day:
January 6th
Genesis 4/Luke 4
Genesis 4 – Cain and Abel are born to Adam and Eve. The Lord asked both Cain and Abel to make a sacrifice. Abel’s sacrifice was accepted, but Cain’s was not. Cain got very upset at God and this was God’s reply: “You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master” (Genesis 4:7) Cain eventually ends up killing Abel. This is just a great reminder that we are capable of so much when we let sin creep into our lives. It is so important that we strive to follow the Lord. After Cain kills Abel God promises to watch over Cain…this is a picture of God’s grace. Cain didn’t deserve to be protected after killing his brother, yet God chose to still protect him.
Luke 4 – Satan tries his best to deceive Jesus as he tempts him. Satan is always looking for opportunities to lie to us and get us to believe his lies. Jesus does not falter under Satan’s multiple temptations. Jesus tells us that if we ask Him, He will protect us and watch over us from the devil’s schemes…may we heed the Lord’s calling!!
