Another busy but great day here in Israel. Sometimes I wonder where all of the time goes throughout the day. Today I slept in a little bit, then I did some cooking as you can see below :) I made a homemade black bean salad as well as some homemade tortillas.
Black Bean Salad: 1 can of black beans drained 2 ears of corn cooked and cut off the cob 1 tomato diced 1 small purple onion diced 1 avocado diced A pinch of salt A pinch of pepper
Mix all together and eat

So today is "Off" from the reading, but I wanted to share with you my thoughts from January 1st's reading:
January 1st
Genesis 1/Luke 1
Genesis 1 – Amazing how the Creation of the Universe was spoke into being. I love that!! No other person in the world besides God himself has the ability to do that. WOW!! What a neat display of His power and to see that everything was created for a reason and with a purpose.
Luke 1 – Really incredible to see how the Lord chooses Mary to be the one who will give birth to Jesus…wow. What an amazing experience it must have been for Mary knowing she was carrying Christ’s Son. This whole chapter once again shows God’s faithfulness from impregnating Mary to having Elizabeth bear a child. I loved some of the verses near the end of the chapter - Luke 1:78-79 says, “Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.” I am so thankful for God’s mercy and grace that He lavishly give freely to us!!!!
I hope everyone has had a great Sunday and I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead :) This week we play Ashdod on Wednesday. Ashdod right now is tied for 1st place in the league, so this will be a BIG game for us! We practice tomorrow and Tuesday and then game day it is :)!!!
God bless,
Megan
