Reading for today:
January 21st
Genesis 15/Luke 15
Genesis 15 – What a man of faith Abram was!! I love where it says in vs. 6 “And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him righteous because of his faith.” May we all strive to possess such a faith. It is also neat to see the Lord grow Abram’s faith. What seemed impossible to Abram (to have descendants) was possible with God.
Luke 15 – I love how Jesus teaches in parables at times. In this chapter Jesus talks about the parable of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son. In all three cases hope was never lost. The shepherd pursued after the sheep until he found it. The woman who lost the coin rejoiced with her friends when it was found…and in the same way Heaven rejoices when one person comes to know the Lord. And last but not least in the Parable of the Lost Son…when the son returns to his father, the father welcomes him with open arms and prepares a feast for him. What a great reminder for us to remember to be in constant pursuit of Christ and to be a witness and a living testimony of God’s goodness each and every day.
God bless,
Megan
