Ipek, one of my friends that I have gotten to know quite well over here, offered to take me to the airport last night which was really nice. She thought it would be best if we drove to the airport and try to figure something out. I was going to see if I could fly to Istanbul and get a direct flight out of there to Chicago or New York. Well, because a lot of people have been trying to get to the States from Europe, all of those flights were booked. The Turkish Airlines told me that the earliest flight that I could get back home would be Monday. So, I will be, Lord willing, heading home on Monday. My flight is booked, it is just a matter now of waiting to see if we can get out :). Flights went out this morning from Istanbul to the States, so I think we will be okay.
I have had quite the adventure getting back home from Turkey. At Christmas my flight was cancelled as well. I am thinking maybe Turkey does not want me to leave ;)...just kidding. Throughout this whole ordeal I know that the Lord is going to teach me some things. I am going to enjoy my last two days in Turkey and just relax. I thought last Sunday was going to be my last time going to my church over here, but I get to go tomorrow again J.
My brother flies in to Roanoke today. He is going to be spending about a week at home, and then he will go to the airport with me on Friday and we will part ways from there. I am looking forward to seeing all of my family soon J. Thank the Lord for skype, because I am still able to see my family; even though I don’t see them in person it is the next best thing.
I fly out next Friday for San Antonio, so I am going to only have a few days at home, but a few days are better than no days. I would covet your prayers, that I might be able to get out on Monday, and that we would have a safe flight to the States.
Today I slept in! I stayed up pretty late last night trying to figure out what I was going to do. I am just going to use my last two days here to relax and rest. I know when I get back into the States, that I will soon be busy again...especially when the WNBA season starts up!
I want to pass along a verse that someone shared with me:
Isaiah 41:9-10 “I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Also, courtesy of a friend down in San Antonio who is one of our photographers, I now have a new picture up at the top of the website! Thank you Carmen :) I tried the other day trying to figure out how to change the picture, but I couldn't seem to get the right dimensions.

Verses of the day:
Psalm 128:1 “Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in his way.”
It is not always easy to walk in the way of the Lord, but what a reward we have when we do!
Proverbs 17:13-14 “If a man pays back evil for good, evil will never leave his house. Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.”
This reminds of the verse, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”…how do you and I treat others?
Revelation 3:3 “Remember therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.”
This is a wake up call to one of the seven churches in the book of Revelation. I think it is a great verse for us too. We are guilty sometimes of the very same thing that the church in Sardis was guilty of. At times I know I can grow complacent in my walk. It is my desire and passion to seek Him on a daily basis! Sometimes we need to “WAKE UP”!!
Revelation 3:21 “To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.”
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)
