HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! :) I hope you have a wonderful day. Take a break from studying some okay ;)
Sorry I was not able to blog last night. We had some internet issues here, that prevented me from being able to get online all evening. The internet finally came back on this morning, and then it went out again this afternoon. It just now came back on a little bit ago, so I am going to try to blog now, while I still have internet connection.
TEN days until HOME :) I can't wait!! Yesterday and today went well. I did not do a whole lot yesterday besides live at the gym ha. No I didn't live at the gym, but we did have lifting, shooting at the gym, and then practice in the afternoon. It is always nice to finish the day...feel like you accomplished something. I cooked dinner last night too, which I have not done in awhile. I baked chicken with some mushrooms, and made some rice. Last night since I didn't have internet I capitalized on the opportunity to do some quality reading for school and for pleasure.
As I was reading last night in my Bible before I went to bed, the Lord really spoke to my heart. He gave me some awesome verses, that just jumped out at me and spoke to me immediately. Have you ever felt like you are in a slump whether it be physically, mentally, spiritually, or a combination of the three. Well, I want to give you a verse that I think is very fitting for times of uncertainty, doubt, questioning, etc.
Psalm 27:14 says, "WAIT for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
The word "wait" is not something that we want to hear very often. Whether it be waiting for a certain day to come, waiting for an exam result, waiting to get paid, the list could go on and on. In the verse above though, we are instructed to WAIT. I am a "go getter" type of person by nature, so it is not always easy for me to hear the word "WAIT". I have to admit too, that my time over here in Turkey so far I have had to do A LOT of waiting. The Lord has really been working with me on my patience. The best way to really learn, is by experiencing something right? Well, I have had to exercise patience time and time again since being here in Adana. I know the Lord has a reason for teaching me to WAIT, and I know that I am going through different lessons over here as part of the refining process.
I am so excited to go home. I think I am more excited than I was last year ha. I mean I am always ready to see my family and friends, but this year even moreso. This verse really convicted me because as much as I want to go home, I have to WAIT for the time to go by. As I was talking to the Lord last night, I was telling Him how I want to be able to use these last few days I am over here, before going home, for Him. Selfishly, I could choose to go to practice , stay in my room, go to bed, then wake up and do it all over again. It has been harder this year to connect with the girls, since I live so far away from the gym and most of the girls live close to it. Well, ironically some of the girls invited me over to their house to eat lunch today. What a great opportunity to be able to spend some time with them right? The Lord answer's prayer :). So, I decided I would stay and eat. It is nasty weather out, so part of me felt like just calling it a day after practice and going home, but once again that is me being selfish with my time. So, off I went to eat with some of my teammates, and it was so much FUN!! We had a great time of fellowship, laughing, talking, and of course eating :). The Lord knows when we need a little pick me up doesn't He? WOW!! I wish I would have brought my camera, because we had quite the spread. We had a beans and rice dish, yogurt, bread, and some smaller turkish type food that is hard to explain in English.
So, I say all that to just ENCOURAGE you in whatever state in life you find yourself in, to WAIT on the Lord. The Lord, in His perfect timing, will provide all you need.
I leave you with one more verse:
Psalm 28:7 "The Lord is my STRENGTH and my SHIELD; my heart trusts in Him and I am HELPED."
TOMORROW we play our 8th game of the season against a team who has not won any games yet. We play tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. here at home. I will update you and let you know how we do!
I hope you all have a great rest of the day!!
Megan

The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like [Moses] from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.— Deuteronomy 18:15 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...Jesus is that prophet like Moses. He has come and taught us God's truth. He has taught us with his words recorded in the Gospels. He has taught us with his example, through the deeds he has done. He is teaching us through his abiding presence in us and through the Spirit he has given us. But he teaches us most effectively when we put into practice what he has said.
My Utmost For His Highest:
God is not actively involved with our natural life as long as we continue to pamper and gratify it. But once we are willing to put it out in the desert and are determined to keep it under control, God will be with it. He will then provide wells and oases and fulfill all His promises for the natural
Our Daily Bread:
There’s always a choice in this life. Live God’s way and enjoy His smile of approval—or live as a fool and find destruction. That’s the tough and tender truth about living in God’s world. Which do you choose?
Deceptions, twists, and outright lies

But those who follow God’s Word show
