Today was a good day! I slept in, went for a run and did abs, then had practice, and then watched a movie with one of my teammates at my apartment.
Tomorrow we practice in the afternoon and then it is GAME DAY on Wednesday!!
I attached a link to watch Josh McDowell preach an incredible message on "Love" at the bottome of this blog post. It is definitely worth your time to watch it.
God bless,
Megan
Reading for the Day:
February 10th
Genesis 29/Acts 5
Genesis 29 – It is pretty impressive that Jacob is willing to work for 7 years in order to marry Rachel. If that is not impressive enough, Jacob is tricked by Laban into marrying Rachel’s older sister Leah so what does Jacob do…he decides to work another 7 years so he can marry Rachel as well. This shows the determination and perseverance Jacob had in order to be able to marry Rachel who he loved dearly.
Acts 5 – Ananias and Sapphira die because of their dishonesty. It is so important to be honest not just in the “big” things of life but also the “small” things. God sees each of our hearts and He knows when we are honest and when we aren’t. Although we may get by with being dishonest on this earth, God is watching…so why not be honest at ALL times? What a great reminder that there are always consequences to our sin.
At the end of the chapter Peter and the apostles continue to be bold for the Lord. They say, “We must obey God rather than any human authority” (vs. 29b) I love this statement! We all can be guilty at times of trying to please man, but what we need to be doing is pleasing the Lord even if it costs us opposition or possible death. I think of the words to the song “Better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere”!!
