We had a light recovery practice and then I went to the gym and got a lift in, as well as did some biking. After that I went to the grocery store to get stocked up on Shabat items for tomorrow night. This evening Tolu came over and I made chicken and broccoli alfredo along with a salad. For dessert I made some chocolate chip cookies but with a little bit of a twist. I used applesauce as a butter replacement. I was hoping they would taste okay, and Tolu said they were great! I sent all the cookies home with her since I am not eating any sweets this month. It takes some self control to make a whole batch of cookies and not eat any of the dough or the cookies once they are baked lol ;) It was fun to fellowship with her and chat.
I wanted to share with you an excerpt from a blog I was reading earlier today:
God’s blessings don’t pursue temporarily -- but relentlessly. It’s right there in His Word: His goodness and mercy pursue me not just some days — but all the days of my life. When I’m in a wilderness, His mercy and goodness run after me. When I’m hurting, His grace hunts for me. When I’m plagued by problems, His goodness pursues me." ANN VOSKAMP
I am thankful I serve a GOd who pursues me "not just some days --- but all the day of my life". How humbling and how refreshing. Yes, the word of the day is "refresh". Do you feel like you need to be refreshed? Run to the source, Jesus, who will constantly and consistently refresh you when you need it.
Tomorrow we have OFF which is super nice!
God bless,
Megan
Reading for the day:
March 13th
Exodus 2/Acts 28
Exodus 2 – Amazing how God sees fit to take care of Moses…and who else better to take care of him than his own mom. Time and time again the Bible has countless stories of how God takes care of his people and His perfect plan is worked out. Even after Moses kills a man, God allows him to escape from Egypt and find a safe place to stay.
Acts 28 – A snake bites Paul, and yet God in his sovereignty allows Paul to be unharmed. He then travels to Rome and proclaims the Good News of Christ to the people there. Paul is able to preach and stay in Rome while still being under guard. God has the power to help people who hear about Him to want to know more. It doesn’t mean we won’t ever face opposition when speaking about the Lord (that has happened to numerous people and will continue to), but God can also open up the ears of people so that they accept what they are hearing.
