Today was a great day! We had lifting this morning and then practice right after lifting. I came home, relaxed some, took a little nap, and then I went to "Shake Shack" with my roommate to get dinner. This was the first time in the whole 7 weeks that I have been here that I have eaten fries or a burger. Definitely not something I make a habit of, but it tasted really good and I could tell the quality of the food was awesome! Shake Shack is actually a chain restaurant that originated in the States, so it is really nice because it has an English menu and everything :)!
It is back to the grind tomorrow...on the road again! We have an early morning flight to Adana where we will be playing on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. which is 7:00 a.m. EST against Botas. I played for Botas my 2nd year in Turkey, so I am very familiar with the city and the team.
It would be a huge win for us and I know our team is up for the challenge!! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend ahead :).
Reading for the Day:
November 14th
Judges 18/Hebrews 11
Judges 18 – Amazing how the tribe of Dan takes Micah’s idols and his priest. How frivolous it is to put our trust in idols of any kind. Trusting in Jesus Christ is the answer because He is the way, the truth, and the life!!
Hebrews 11 – Examples of faith are outlined in this chapter. What an incredible account of men and woman of faith. Also, what a challenge to you and me that we would live lives that are “faithful”. Living a life that is faithful to the Lord may mean death, persecution, oppression, and other things, but we have a great hope and peace knowing that this world is not our “home”. Are you living a life of faith in Jesus?
God bless,
Megan
