Here is the reading from today:
January 15th
Genesis 11/Luke 11
Genesis 11 – This chapter talks about the Tower of Babel. How amazing it is that this is where the many languages that we see and hear today originated. God in his perfect plan saw fit that there would not be one unified language down on this earth. Being able to hear a different language is a beautiful thing, and God also knew it was necessary (vs.6-7).
Luke 12 – First off Jesus tells us the importance of being BOLD with our faith. Whenever I think of being bold I think back to those who have literally been killed because they took a stand for Jesus and those who are being killed even today. We live in a country where we have “religious freedom” but there could come a time when we don’t. My hearts desire is that I would be able to be BOLD with my faith in that way if the situation presented itself. Jesus also addresses those who are “rich”. The reality of it is, we all have excess whether it is food, clothing, gadgets, you name it. May we value our relationship with Christ more than anything on this earth…above even our family, spouse, boyfriend, friends, stuff, etc. What matters most is Jesus!! We are not to worry about earthly things, but rather fix our eyes on the prize…the prize being spending eternity with Jesus Christ.
