Reading for the day:
March 17th
Exodus 4/Romans 2
Exodus 4 – The Lord shows his power to Moses. Moses kept trying to make excuses and say he was inadequate BUT GOT showed him that all he needed to do was put his faith in the Lord and the Lord would provide for him and tell him exactly what he needed to do. Thankful that the Lord gives us ALL exactly what we need when we need it. It may come in a form that we don’t expect, but how amazing it is we serve a God who sustains us and provides for us.
Romans 2 – This chapter is really neat. I love how the Lord acknowledges that there is consequences coming for those who do not put their trust in Him. He then finishes the chapter off by comparing and contrasting Jews and Gentiles; both of them have the opportunity to be saved. God shows no favoritism, but He does require that we give our life to Him…our whole being. We should not feel pressured to follow the law, but rather we should strive to honor the Lord with our heart and life and that will translate into wanting to honor and please Him because we love Him. I am reading a book right now and I loved this quote from it: “The Bible isn’t a rule book. It’s a love letter. I’m not an employee. I’m a child. It’s not about my performance. It’s about Jesus’ performance for me.”
